Deep Dive
Steps to Take
Taking time to find a new home for your household items is easy and reduces waste. Listed below are resources available to all Medfield residents and some for Transfer Station sticker holders.
Resources for All
A. Medfield Curb Alert. Medfield has a thriving Facebook Curb Alert program: https://www.facebook.com/medfieldswapshop Have something you're looking to get rid of? Take a picture of it and put it on your curb / driveway / porch, then post it on their page. It could be a board game, a couch, clothes or baby things. Anything goes! Add your address for quickest pickup or ask to be sent a private message so you can connect with the recipient directly. Please use some discretion when claiming items and do not claim more than needed/necessary.
There is also a Facebook page, Medfield Area Free Stuff. This is also a great place to turn to pass things on and to find things. https://www.facebook.com/groups/214466045592501
B. Freecycle. The Freecycle Network is made up of 5,000+ groups with over 9 million members across the globe. It's a grass-roots, entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Their mission is to build a worldwide sharing movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources, and eases the burden on our landfills while enabling their members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.
Medfield doesn’t have its own Freecycle Page but Millis and Walpole and other local towns have groups that Medfield residents are welcome in. https://www.freecycle.org/
Here is another free group: FreelyWheely. https://www.freelywheely.com/us/massachusetts/norfolk/medfield/freecycle
All the exchanges are 100% FREE.
