I first installed a small solar panel system (~3kw) in 2005, mainly to encourage growth of the industry and as a statement of how important the transition to renewable energy was. When Medfield participated in the Solarize program in 2016 - 17, I replaced the first generation system with a larger and more productive system. I now get about half of the electricity for my house from my solar panels, despite having a fair amount of shade on my roof.
